Opera for Peace x Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society
11th November 2025Opera for Peace was deeply honored to take part in the 20th anniversary of the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society in Paris — a gathering where ideas, innovation, and inclusion meet global leadership.
Opera for Peace was represented on two fronts. Soprano and Opera for Peace Emerging Artist Axelle Saint-Cirel performed in the Opening Ceremony, bringing her voice as a symbol of diversity and excellence to this milestone celebration. She was accompanied by the wonderful harpist Nadja Dornik.
Opera for Peace Co-founder & General Director Julia Lagahuzère joined Panel 2: “Creative Courage – How Arts and Culture Move the World,” moderated by Melissa Ceria, alongside inspirational colleagues Krista Pikkat, Sonita Alizadeh, and Frédéric Jousset.
During their discussion, she spoke about courage through creation — how opera, often viewed as a heritage art form, can become a space for transformation. At Opera for Peace, we believe that courage lies in empowering others to express their truth — not through power, but through voice. Every note sung by our artists, from Iran to South Africa, from Ukraine to France, carries the possibility of dialogue, empathy, and peace.
In a world fractured by conflict and uncertainty, art is not an escape — it is a form of leadership. It teaches us to listen, to imagine, and to rebuild.
Opera for Peace is proud to have brought this message — and these voices — to the Women’s Forum 2025. Together, we can make culture a true force for change.
