International Mentorship Program for emerging set designers

27th June 2023

As part of the collaboration between Opera for Peace, Scenography Today, and UNITA for Future, we congratulate the talented emerging set designers selected for our International Mentorship Program!

▸ Alejandra Escobedo from Tijuana, Mexico, mentored by Gary McCann
▸ Nthabiseng Malaka from Johannesburg, South Africa, mentored by Christian Schmidt
▸ Antonio Saucedo Azpe from Mexico City, Mexico, mentored by Paolo Fantin

Over the next months, our mentees will have the incredible opportunity to receive one-to-one professional advice, attend masterclasses from industry experts, and participate in an on-site learning experience at a major theatre alongside their mentors.

This unique mentorship program aims to nurture the skills, experience, and international network of these promising designers, helping them to reach their full potential in the world of theatre and opera.

We extend our gratitude to the senior set designers for generously sharing their experience and network with the next generation of artists. Their invaluable contributions will help shape the future of the international cultural landscape!
