Opera for Peace x Festival das Artes Quebrajazz, Portugal
15th August 2026On 19 July, Opera for Peace was represented at the Festival das Artes QuebraJazz in Coimbra, Portugal, as part of an evening dedicated to some of opera’s most celebrated repertoire.
The concert brought together Opera for Peace Ambassador René Barbera and Opera for Peace Emerging Artist Forooz Razavi, alongside Opera for Peace Associated Artist Luvuyo Mbundu, baritone as well as mezzo-soprano Dilana Saka, who will take part in the Opera for Peace Academy 2026 – Lugano this September. The singers were accompanied by pianist Joana David.
The concert was directed and lit by Michel El Ghoul, Opera for Peace Art & Production Design Director, the Director and Light Designer of this concert.
Together, the artists presented a selection of works by composers including Puccini, Verdi, Rossini and Bizet in the beautiful setting of Coimbra’s historic Quinta das Lágrimas.
The evening brought together different stages of the Opera for Peace community, from established professionals and ambassadors to emerging and associated artists, offering an opportunity for the artists to share the stage in an international festival setting, reflecting Opera for Peace’s commitment to supporting talent and creating opportunities for artistic exchange.
