AUDIT PROGRAM
 
The Opera for Peace & The Denyce Graves Foundation Academy, in collaboration with Washington National Opera and its Cafritz Young Artists Program, is delighted to invite a selected high-level group of auditors to experience the inaugural U.S. Academy in Washington, D.C., from November 10–16, 2025.*
 
This is a unique opportunity to observe the training of 10 exceptional young opera artists—selected from hundreds of applicants worldwide—as they work with worldrenowned mentors and cultural leaders.
 
What Auditors Can Expect
 
Auditors will have the chance to attend and observe:
• Masterclasses with opera luminaries including Denyce Graves, Renée Fleming, Kamal Khan (Opera for Peace Artistic Director), and others.
• Audition Workshops with Samuel Gelber, Director of Artistic Planning and Operations, Washington National Opera
• Workshops on professional development, cultural diplomacy, and peacebuilding.
• Concert preparation sessions with distinguished stage directors and coaches.
• Final Gala Concert & Cocktail Reception at the Embassy of France (Nov 14).
• Closing Ceremony at a Washington, D.C. venue (Nov 16).
 
Please note: Auditors will not actively participate by singing, but will observe the work of the selected Academy artists.
 
Selection Process
 
Applications are open to professionals, patrons of the arts, and individuals with a strong interest in opera and cultural diplomacy. There are no age or musical requirements, but places will be reserved for a carefully chosen group to ensure an engaged and meaningful exchange.

Practical Information
 
• Program Fee: $350 for the full Academy week. (Fee does not include travel, accommodation, or meals outside official events.)
• Auditors may attend for the entire Academy or selected days; however, the fee remains fixed.
