Opera for Peace Academy 2026 with LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura

26th August 2026

On 4 Sept, the Opera for Peace Academy 2026 – Lugano starts at LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, marking an exciting new chapter in the journey of our Academies!

We are deeply honoured to collaborate with LAC for our 5 year anniversary edition — a dynamic cultural institution with whom we share a belief in the power of music and the arts to connect people, cultures and generations.

“This fifth edition represents a particularly significant moment for us,” says Julia Lagahuzère, OfP Founder and General Director. “This year we received more than 400 applications from 76 countries. We are delighted to be holding the Academy together with LAC, with whom we share a common vision and deeply held values. Thanks to this collaboration, Lugano has now become a second home for Opera for Peace.”

That shared vision is reflected in the words of Andrea Amarante, General and Artistic Director of LAC’s Music Season, who says: “LAC is a dynamic organisation, an open laboratory that seeks to maintain a living and genuine relationship with the civic and social community of which it is part of. Music and art can offer tools and opportunities, put skills and talent into circulation, and create a shared space in which different experiences, languages and traditions can meet.

Recognising and supporting a young artist does not simply mean offering an opportunity; it also means contributing to the expansion of the musical landscape, encouraging generational renewal and the circulation of new artistic personalities.”

The OfP Academy 2026 – Lugano will culminate in a Gala Concert, bringing together the Academy artists with the OSI – Orchestra della Svizzera italiana.

Date: 12 Sept 2026
